Featured Pet
Emma
Emma, a Border Collie mix, is a special needs girl. She was attacked by a larger dog. She had to have one eye removed, and her jaw has been repaired. She is now recuperating, and doing very well. She has no problems seeing or eating.
She is currently in foster care and is well socialized, housebroken, does great with other dogs and cats, has already been spayed, been microchipped, and is current on her vaccinations.
She is about 5 months old now and is a happy-go-lucky little girl who does not know she has a “handicap”. She is enrolled in obedience training, loves her treats and loves car rides. Emma would make a great companion for a family and is looking for her new forever home.
If you would like to meet Emma, please call either Sandy @ 245-0228 or Angie @ 896-1700.
Emma’s adoption fee to an approved home will be $100.00

Blackie and Suzie Q gets a new home together !
June 2006
Blackie was just a big, old cat that was abandoned and not fixed. He had been a Tom Cat for a while. When he got adopted, he was adopted with another cat named Suzie Q.
Suzie Q was declawed... and like most declawed cats, she became a biter and nobody wanted her. She like to hang out in our kennel and nobody would bother her ... but she really needed a home of her own.
Along came a wonderful couple who raised sheep. They wanted some cats for the barn. We thought we should give Suzie Q a chance. It was a safe place for her to be outside, which is what she always wanted. She fit in right away. In fact, one of the pictures below is of her catching a mouse. She was so proud of her catch. She has been there since June 2006 and they just love her, and she is loving life again. She has fit in with all the other farm animals, and Blackie too.
That's her story.
Additionally, Blackie & SusieQ's mom had previously adopted Isabella from HHP. Isabella is a 10 year old Himalayan that everybody thought she was too old. She is now 14 years old (in 2008) and is going strong. She has given her mom and dad many quiet nights and days of companionship and joy. (This wonderful couple always adopts the "hard luck" or special kitties.)

Smokey
We rescued Smokey in 2005... she was an abandoned kitty living on her own in an abandonded farm house.
Smokey is now living in Juno, Alaska. It's been 3 years since her adoption and her family still sends us pictures and tell us how wonderful she is. She likes to sleep by the fire.. and they just adore her.
Lisa Goes to Washington
June 2006:
Well she has been with us a week now and all of us couldn’t be happier.
She is a great dog and very smart. She has bonded to us completely. She has learned many things in a short time. She has learned to lay by the couch, her couch. She has also learned to sleep on the bed dnd to tear up her toys. (We are working on that one)
And generally she is a happy puppy that is a joy (most times) to be around. Thanks again for a great dog.

October 2006:
I think you will remember us, we are the couple who came from Washington state to adopt Baby Girl now know as Lisa. Well today is her 1 year birthday and we went to the park to celebrate with a picnic. The girls had Arby’s junior (hold the bun) each.
Thought you would like to know Lisa is happy and has a loving home. She has found her spot in the pack and is trying to be a good girl most of the time.

Scout
April 2008
Hello All,
Thought I would send you this picture of Scout I took this morning. As you can see, this is his favorite place to lay ... on our sofa. We still really love this scottie you helped us get !!!
Take Care,
Wayne and Margaret
Coeurd'Alene, Idaho
P.S. When he first came to us, we called him Scoutie McDougall, but he has decided he likes Scoutie Rhubarb better ... for the red coming out in his beard! Go Figure.
