I'm so glad to have met this one on your site. "Saska", a wonderful addition to our family she has become. I am most grateful for the couple that rescued her and put her up for adoption on your site. She has become an asset to our home and our lives! Thank you and, to the people out there that care and give these loving animals a chance for a new life.
Please also extend my graditude to the couple that originally rescued her. I have lost their corresponding phone numbers and wish to let then know of her progess.

Update: February 11, 2011
Saska loves to go for rides and walks. We recently took a car trip to New Mexico and she did great! She also joins us when we go visit and ride our horses. Saska has been around other dogs, horses, cattle and wildlife to include deer and wild turkeys. She does very well around them and listens to corrections. Saska is a very smart dog and is eager to learn and please. She does not always require a leash when we venture out because she is very loyal and listens when asked to come, stay, sit or lay down. She has learned hand comands, as well as, verbal. She never jumps in or out of the truck when the tail gate is up or leaves the yard when we need to leave the gate open to bring things in or out. She is starting to play fetch and her personality is shining through more and more each day. She has become very vocal with her grumbles and groans. She isn't shy about letting us know when she needs outside. When we wake up in the morning or come home, Saska is always the first to happily great us. Saska is very affectionate torwards my son and I and loves our attention. Though she is still very shy with others, she is getting better about greeting our regular visitors and friends. Her last trip to the vet went very well as she has begun to trust us more and more. She didn't even fuss much when her ears were cleaned and her nails were clipped. The year before we needed to sedate her, not this year! Saska gets along very well with our other dog.
Saska still gets upset easily when it gets noisy or her routine is changed, but she is much easier to calm. She just needs to hear us tell her she is a "Good Girl" or that every thing will be "Okay". She does not like to upset us and if she thinks she does her feelings are hurt. Saska responds well to positive re-enforcement and is more comfident when she feels she is a good dog. As long as Rowdy, myself and/or my son are around she does just fine. Water is very important to Saska and we always have plenty around. She especially loves the wading pool and running ditch in our yard in the summer. Her other "safe places" include: her bed, the back of our truck and, believe it or not, the bathtub. The tub is another funny and great thing. Saska has learned that after spending a day out in the mud that the next step is the tub. She comes in and goes straight to the bathroom and gets in the tub and waits for my son to rinse her legs and underbelly with water. Her most favorite part, of course is the towel at the end! I could go on and on, so I'll stop there for now.
All and all, Saska has come a long way in the year and a half since we got her. I never regret a day since she was introduced into our lives. I will try and send a better and more recent photo. She has gained more weight and her coat is soft and shinny and she seems to smile more. I am very greatful the the couple that found her, loved and cared for her, and fostered her. I understand that Saska was in very poor condition, very scared, and untrusting when they found her. They worked very hard with her and in getting her ready for adoption. You are more than welcome to share my notes and pictures of Saska with them, if they would like an update.
Thank you again for helping Saska and our family come together! You are a wonderful organization. You do great things for both animals and the people that seek their companionship in their lives.
Sincerely,
Darlee, Justin, Rowdy & Saska
