He is a very handsome white and brown tabby cat, full of love and ready to be your new housemate. Buffy is a very big kitty, almost 30 pounds! His elderly owner can no longer take care of him, so if we can't find a home soon he will be put down.  We don't want that to happen!.

Rosco

July 11, 2009

Hello!

Just thought we'd update you all on Rosco, who we adopted when he was at PetSmart on June 13th!  Here are pictures of him with his new family.  Everyone just loves him, and Rosco loves everyone!  Rosco is living with the older gentleman, Jim (who has his arm around Rosco in the second picture) since our own dog, Mac, picked fights with Rosco at our house.  Jim loves having him around and especially likes feeding him treats, which suits Rosco just fine!  For an eight year old dog, there sure is a lot of puppy playfulness left in him!  He loves to play catch and has gotten pretty good with the Frisbee!  We like to take a walk around the block after supper, and when Jim's legs get tired, he sits in the wheelchair, holds onto Rosco's leash and Rosco tows him the rest of the way home!  It is a pretty funny sight to see!

Rosco just had his checkup today at Moore Lane.  He is 72 pounds, which the vet said was a good weight for him.  His right eye has been extra goopy since we got him home and it turns out that he has a very bad ear infection on the right side (the vet said he cleaned a ton of black, stinky crud from the ear), which he said could be causing inflamation in the tissue around the eye and causing the tears not to drain normally.  We'll treat his ear infection and hope the eye clears up as well.  Otherwise, he says he looks healthy!  We'll get the results from the blood test in a few days, then start him on the heartworm prevention medicine.

What a happy coincidence that on that day when we went into PetSmart to get toys for our dog, Mac, someone (Kathy?)was there with Rosco!  He has been a joy and a wonderful addition to our family!

Sincerely,

Kevin, Cheryl and 'Ol Jim
