Maple

We adore her. Cindy (another HELP FOR HOMELESS PETS Dog) is obsessed with her, as is she with CIndy. Follows Cindy, her shadow. They make us laugh. It was 15 years ago that I had a puppy...I'm starting to realize why I said Never Again!! But, she's so dang cute. We went to the feed store today and she and Cindy romped around. Then to Pet Smart.

She's up to 35 pounds now, about 6-7 months ol

Couldn't resist taking pictures of my babies yesterday.....I'm positive you want to see them!!!
Maple LOVES her big sister.
Not convinced the feeling is mutual....Cindy much prefers NOT sharing her bed!
She still hasn't quite grown into her ears.
Life is soooooo serious.

Hi Angie.....here's some photos of Maple's first Christmas with us. The girls sure did have fun with all their new goodies. Needless to say, a week later, they pretty much need to be replaced. Maple DESTROYS her toys!! I hope you have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Keep doing what you're doing....you've made us very happy!
Santa seemed to forget there were more than dogs at our house. Here is the extent of our Christmas Morning.....
Santa dropped many presents
for the girls....
Maple found her favorite right away....
Cindy had to keep working to find the one she liked the best.
Still doing the hard part....
As usual, they both want the same one. The toys have never looked this good since Christmas Morning! They are now gutless, shredded and Maple-ised.

Spring is upon us and Cindy is taking advantage of the warm weather. As for Maple, it will pretty much be winter all year long!!!But, you can see that Maple still has her playful spirit, despite always being cold! She loves her warm blankets and her new favorite toy!
Update: Oct. 15, 2011
Last night, we were invited to a "pool party", hosted by the President of the Board of our animal shelter. They live in this beautiful home, absolutely fantastic place, on a ton of land. It's a doggie paradise.....not only the wide open spaces, but they have a gorgeous swimming pool. They custom built it with a ramp so their dogs can have a play place. They were gracious enough to open it up to humans and their dogs. About 30-40 people attended, along with 10-12 dogs. We laughed soooooo hard at the dogs and their antics. We couldn't get Cindy out of the water, once she got used to the ramp. She chased toys for 2 hours straight. She befriended Shorty, a 1 1/2 year old Corgi who also enjoyed a splash in the pool! Maple hung on the safety of the ramp, after she fell in and had to pulled out!!! She's not much of a water dog, but sure enjoyed pulling all the retrieved toys out of the pool and hoarding them in her pile! All the dog got along splendidly.
After appetizers by the pool for a couple hours, enjoying our doggie entertainment, we retreated to the outdoor entertainment patio where we had a scrumptious meal outdoors. The dogs continued their play on land where Maple befriended a pug and they romped while Cindy and Shorty chased the frisbee, balls and anything else tossed their way. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. My girls seem a bit "hungover" today after their fun-filled party adventure.......

Now that the seasons are changing and it's BRRRRRR cold outside, it's so nice to have a warm body to snuggle with.......
Update: Nov. 22, 2011
Howdy, Angie.....below are a few attempts at Christmas Card photos with our girls.....we wanted to get them done before it got too cold outside so there's still fall colors in the yard. Needless to say, my girls aren't the most cooperative at taking photos.....they always find something more interesting than the camera to look at! They just love each other, Angie.....you've made all four of us very happy! Have a wonderful holiday season!

Update: January 4, 2012
The holidays are quickly passing......we sure did enjoy a few days off of work. We woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful day. Here's a re-cap of our celebration......
We took a hike to Spanish Peaks, on the Ted Turner property. We didn't bring our snowshoes and encountered more snow than we had planned, so we walked along the plowed road instead. Shortly into our walk, we saw TWO bald eagles sitting atop two fence posts. By the time I got my camera out, one just took off flying and the other one posed for me.
