He is a very handsome white and brown tabby cat, full of love and ready to be your new housemate. Buffy is a very big kitty, almost 30 pounds! His elderly owner can no longer take care of him, so if we can't find a home soon he will be put down.  We don't want that to happen!.

Ginny Pig

March 15, 2010

Here are some photos of Ginny Pig in her new pen.  The stool in the litter box is supposed to give them a hiding spot, if they don't feel comfy to use the litter box out in the open.  I've done lots of reading in the past 24 hours.  I think she likes having a big pen, no wire under her feet, and toys, and fruits and veggies.  I ordered some timothy hay, which should be her main diet and some timothy hay pellets which would make up about 1% of her diet, and the fruits/veggies 1%, the hay is the most important.  Will be here in three days.  The food she came with is for GPs but it is all wrong for them....go figure.  It has seeds in it, pellets probably alfalfa which is too rich, and other stuff.  They mainly just need hay!  For health and to help keep their teeth ground down.

I bet she'll be in piggy heaven in 3 days!

I am buying more stuff for her to eat well, than I do for us.  I just went to the store and got grapes, strawberries, cilantro, parsley, celery, bananas... she hasn't had them before, I can tell because she smelled the grapes really good then started to nibble, same with the strawberries, but the greens went down fast, so loved the strawberry and the green grapes too.  I will give her some bananas tonight with the romaine lettuce.  The dogs run to her cage when she starts running and squealing and she is shaking her head and kinda jumping now too.  She's going to get so cute.  Mike said "oh my God she is huge."  She is about 1/2 again as big as our last little Ginny pig.  She has kinda longish hair  especially toward her lower back.  I don't think the dogs know what that squealing is..too funny!
