He is a very handsome white and brown tabby cat, full of love and ready to be your new housemate. Buffy is a very big kitty, almost 30 pounds! His elderly owner can no longer take care of him, so if we can't find a home soon he will be put down.  We don't want that to happen!.

Cooper
September 2008

Cooper was scheduled to be put to sleep at the local animal shelter because they had run out of space.  Thanks to the Save-A-Life program that the shelter has with several local rescue organizations, HHP was able to help Cooper find a new home.

Cooper is now settled in and happy in his new home.

A note from Cooper's new family:
"She is very special, but she does not like to be pet or held.  She likes to hang out with the dogs all day and in the night she sleeps on my pillow or on top of me, but as soon as I try to move, she starts growling at me until I stop moving around ...she does the same to my husband, but if one of our dogs does it she just does not care. She is the queen of our house. She listens also like a dog, if I call her she is right there and if we go in the garage I tell her to go back in the house to wait for us till we will be back from our walk, she does so. When I open the door I have to be carefully since she will be laying right there and wait. She was probably meant to be a dog (LOL). We do not mind her to be like that but I think she was lucky to find us..since most of the people want a cat that they can pet etc....In our house our pets are our children and they can be however they want to be."

Very sad news about Cooper

Our dear friend Cooper had to be put to sleep this afternoon.

Over the last week Cooper was not eating very well so we took her to our Vet last Friday, on the x-ray the discovered a large mass in her intestines. We took her home over the weekend to prepare her for the surgery. After they opened her stomach up they found the cancer spreading all over her little body so we had to make the decision to free he from all her pain and suffering.
She is in a better place now .We are glad she could spent her last weeks with us .I wish it would have been for a much longer period of time.

We miss her very much it hurts to lose such a close companion.
