Clare

December 2009

Hello Angie and Everyone at HHP!

I just wanted to give you an update on our wonderful Clare!  If you remember, we were the family that wanted to "foster" a cat and it didn't take long for us to fall madly in love with this beautiful girl!  We adopted her shortly after.

I was a little reluctant when we first took her home, I remember telling Angie we wanted a cat who "needed a break" from the shelter for a while.  There were so many cats trying to show love and Angie picked up the cat who could have cared less about us being there =)  She handed Clare to me and she quickly jumped out of my arms.  I was nervous, but knew if she didn't like us, she would let us know.  We soon found out that this was Clare's personality.  She liked to be in charge of herself and would only do things on her time.  We LOVE her independence, since this is a big character trait we value in our family.  She fits in perfectly!

Clare gave us quite a scare the first month after finding a mass under her tongue.  It turns out it wasn't cancerous and with a little love and some pills (she hates this part!) she seems to be mending well.  It was actually this experience that made us realize what an important addition to our family she really was.  We can't imagine our life without her!!
She has warmed up to the house well and loves being the "queen".  Being the only cat, she has become quite spoiled, but in a good way~ She is adored by all and we are so grateful that you helped her choose us!  Thank you so much and we hope for as much success with every other cat/dog at the shelter!
