Sadie

SADIE needs a home!! Sadie is a Jack Russell Terrier, 10 years old (born 12/20/2002) and full of energy! She was abandoned when her family moved and left her with a friend. The friend was unable to take care of Sadie so she ended up living in her veterinarian's office for over a year. At least she was well taken care of! She is current on her rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines, never had any puppies, and was spayed in 2006 by her original owner. She is also micro-chipped. She has no known allergies or medical conditions at this time.
Sadie is full of energy, ready to go,go,go at any time. She loves people and would love to bond with someone again. Sadie enjoys playing, going for long walks, running, and swimming as much as possible. Sadie is housetrained, and while she has lived at the veterinarian's office, she has never had a urinary or fecal accident in her large kennel. She is a very dominant female dog, especially with female dogs and other dominant dogs, so would most likely need to be an "only dog". She is used to a crate or large kennel which works best when she needs to be left alone. She grew up with a cat, and has been around cats before without difficulty, but whether she would get along with ANY cat we advise supervision at first. She protects her food and toys aggressively from people and other pets, and will also rip toys to shreds if they are destructable. She likes children, especially if they play with her, but adolescents would be safer than younger children due to her Jack Russell behavior quirks. She should be walked with a harness rather than a regular neck collar, since she pulls too hard on a leash and chokes herself! A fenced in yard, large enough for her to run around is best, although we are unsure if she will dig underneath a fence, so she should be supervised at all times. If not on a leash or in a confined fence, she WILL run loose and get into trouble!
We would love to see Sadie in a suitable home where she can live out the rest of her life being able to run, play, jump, and otherwise BE a Jack Russell Terrier. She is a very high energy dog with many more years to give to the right family, and needs owners who understand the breed and are willing to spend time with her every day. If so, she will be your best friend forever.
Adoption Fee $75.00 Please contact Angie at 406-860-8735 to set up a time to meet Sadie.
